Saturday night I had the pleasure to again see Played Out. They played at the British Beer Company in Framingham.

It was a bit of a drive to watch them, however, I need to catch them when I can.

For a venue for a show, the stage was a bit cramped for the crew, however, they played great and I was able to get some decent shots....

Their next show is this Friday night at Waxy O'Conners in Foxboro which is their favorite location for playing. And quite honestly, I think it is a great venue as well...

If you ever get a chance to see them, I highly suggest you go catch them if they are in the area.
Their website is http://www.playedoutband.com check 'em out.

Next stop is Queechie Vermont this week. I was asked to shoot some of the wedding even though I was already planning on it :-) TTYL

Bogs and Nature Trail in Foxboro

So took a trip this past weekend to the Bass Pro Shops in Foxboro where behind they opened a new 1/2 mile nature trail around the last functioning cranberry bog in Foxboro and a leg in the woods.

This photo is from a man made water feature behind the store....

A water lilly hanging out in the pond....

A Turtle giving me some kind of a look, I thought it was a smirk, others thought he was angry I was taking his photo. I wonder how he will feel about being on the internet...

This is the same man made water feature, with a bit more of an artistic look to it.

Let me know what you think :-)

Bass Pro Shops Car Show

Went to the car show at Bass Pro Shops in Foxboro last night..

Let me tell you, there was a bunch of walking around....

Over 900 Cars were there, as well as 300 bikes....
There were a ton of people there, which made it hard to get decent photos. The car show is every other Thursday.

So, we took a trip to Wells Maine a couple of weekends ago. We had a great time, but the weather did not work out too well for photography. Good thing this trip (unlike our trip to Woods Hole) our vehicle did not get scratched up :-)

Funny thing, we went to a beach in York, and saw the lighthouse out that way. As you can tell by the photo, it was very foggy out, which made it tough to get pictures from the beach, so we drove up and got them a bit closer. But we never got to Wells Beach which was a mile away from out campground.

We were not able to spend allot of time there, as we checked in late, Saturday was busy, and had to leave by 11AM on Sunday.

Looking to go to a car show tomorrow night, hope to get some great photo's there and post some pics up soon.

Woods Hole, Kids Day, and Stony Brook Oh My!

Well, since my last post, I have been taken quite a few more photos. The fourth of July weekend brought us down to Woods Hole on Cape Cod Massachusetts. it was a foggy morning, but the temperature was perfect.

It was interesting looking out to the open waters, hearing boats and birds, yet hearing nothing. We did learn that it is best to do as suggested, park at the malls in Falmouth and take the trolley out that way. The reason, minimal parking, and parking meters that take only 2 hours worth of quarters at a time. Twenty Five Cents for every fifteen minutes.

We did alot of walking around, and visited the Aquarium, and for anyone who visits down there, please note, the aquarium is free because it is taken care by our tax dollars, however, it is not very big, and I would not hold high expectations, but with that being said we enjoyed ourselves.

We saw these two. One is a young male who was attacked by a shark and is now blind, and the other is a lady who kept coming on-shore needing help, so they decided to keep her.

We also saw this man playing away. Had a conversation with him and heard his tale of woa's. Interesting guy. This past weekend, our town held Kids Day. Unlike what the title states, it is actually several days. A carnival along with shows and special events.

Thursday night was the car show, antiques, as well as you can tell some new cars. they have one of our oldies stations show up to play some Oldies music to bring you the feeling of the '50's even if you never lived is, such as I.

Friday night was teaser fireworks, and the big show was Saturday night (I did not take any photos of those, because I actually wanted to see them).

Speaking of Saturday, in the morning was a Firetruck parade throughout town, the kids seemed quite happy with it, although, most of us were deaf from the noise, and if you were new to the town, and had no idea what was going on, you would have thought that the whole town was burning down.
And lastly, the family and I went to Stonybrook in Norfolk Massachusetts. It is a beautiful natural preserve, I am sure we will be visting again.

On a sad note, while I am sure none of them read this blog, I would like to offer my condolences to the family of Captain Dan Coyle, may he rest in peace.

Next weekend..... Off to Wells Beach Maine

Getting your name out there

I must say, it is quite a chore to get your name out there. I was at a campground this weekend and they had a yard sale, five bucks a table. I thought, well, for five bucks, I can get my name out there, and maybe sell a few prints. Sat from 8-12 in almost 90 degree heat in the parking lot and direct sunlight.

Only about a dozen people showed, and looked. I will say, I got some odd questions like "are you selling the pictures or the frames" which I can understand, but then there was "Oh, you took the pictures", not sure how to take that one. But nobody bought anything, nor did many take cards, but I was not expecting much.

I was very satisfied with my 16X20 canvas wrap print that I bought of the 2 wild horses running on the beach, it is gorgeous and looks like an oil painting.

I am continuing to advertise, but it is tough in this economy. I am looking for some friends and families to practice the portrait taking etc. Anyone interested LOL.

But, I will continue to take more shots, show them off and add them to the website. I am hoping sometime to start making enough to upgrade the camera to maybe do a few weddings or something, but I am not sure where this is going.

My first Blog Post

Hello,

This is my first Blog, I will be honest up front, I am not a writer, or a speller. So please bear with me. My name is Keith and I am an amature photographer constantly striving to get better.

I have been taking pictures all my life, I think my Nana rubbed off on me since she had albums upon albums of pictures. I cannot even imagine how much money was spent on the film never mind the developing. My Nana and Grandpa loved to travel, and she loved pictures of the family.

Back when, the camera of choice was a bar shaped 110 camera, so basic, but I would snap away if I had film. Once digital cameras were just starting, I had my first digital camera. It was around 1996 and I had an Apple quickcam. Similar to the 110 in that there was no focus, and a fixed lens, it took 2 AA batteries, and only shot 8 pictures. You could not see the pictures you took, and you could only delete all or none. And that is where it started.

As the years past, I started taking photos for my local animal shelter, and built a page for them, and kept upgrading my cameras. Always enjoyed it, and I believe I have gotten better over the years. it was not until our recent trip to North Carolina that the bug just grew. Lighthouses, storms, Wild Horses, it was an amazing trip with some great photo opportunities, and as I looked at them and showed them off, others agreed, and so began my photography website. Now I look at things differently usually keeping the camera nearby, and looking at the next upgrade. I have been shooting nature, landscape, and animals, and will be working on portraits and more as I grow.

Please visit my site, send me an email and let me know what you think of the site and photos, and if you find something you like, feel free to place an order. Also, my main advertisment is going to be word of mouth for a while, so if you could help me out, I would grealty appreciate it.
